It’s officially a threepeat for the West Ferris Trojans Senior Girls Basketball team. For the third year in a row, the Trojans dominated NDA senior basketball to take home the Championship.
West Ferris won every single game they played this season, often beating opponents by nearly double. Adelena Peel won the regular season scoring title, outscoring the next closest girl in the race by almost 50%. This looked like a team that would not be denied a third NDA Championship in three consecutive years- and they delivered.
Game 1 of the Finals found West Ferris facing the number 2 ranked Algonquin Barons in a best-of-three series to take home the title. The Trojans handily beat the Barons 51-30 to strike first blood. Friday’s rematch was cancelled due to weather- and the game was moved to Monday at ESCA. The Trojan girls didn’t seem rusty for from the weekend of rest, disposing of the Barons 49-35 to cap off a perfect season and take home the hardware.
Next stop for West Ferris is a trip to NOSSA to compete for bragging rights in Northern Ontario.
